I'm just a little bit of everything...

I'm just a little bit of everything... If you hate combat sports, don't follow. If you don't like hip hop, fashion, footwear, comedy, romance, photography, religion, philosophy, don't follow. Otherwise, I look forward to sharing my thoughts and life with you, and vise versa.

BJJ day 31…might as well.

I’m sure most are already tired of my personal ramblings and would rather I just reblog cool pictures and videos. LOL.

Anyhow, my last class was last Tuesday.  It’s Sunday now and I’m filled with what I call “Jiu Jitsu guilt.”  It’s that feeling when you wanna get back on the mats, but you can’t because you have other things you need to do.

Anyhow, I was meeting up a long time friend who has a conflicting schedule that day so I was only able to get in two rounds before leaving. The lesson was more repetitions of the hip swivel guard break to reverse knee on belly to multiple attacks: reverse knee on belly to knee on belly to far side arm bar; rkob to kob to fsab to judo triangle. And an escape to the whole debacle.

In rolling I got to roll with one of my favorites.  Sarkis.  Sarkis is a Judo black belt. He’s also 250 lbs of mostly muscle. Basically, he’s a bad MF’er.  When I feel him, I never feel him muscling me around. It’s pure technique.  I learn a lot when he beats me up.  But, after rolling with him, I was exhausted, to say the least.

Next comes home boy who likes to beat on me when I’m tired. LOL. I ain’t mad at him. It’s prolly good for his self esteem. Beating on a bigger dude. I enjoy going with him though.  Sometimes he gets me. But lately, I’ve been getting him. That makes me feel good. Makes me feel like the beatings I get from the top dogs is helping me beat the pups from my litter.   So yeah, I’m exhausted.  Home boy is just eating me up ( no homo ).  He’s mounting me. He’s throwing submissions at me. I’m just holding on.  That is, until he slipped up and I swept him, and as I swept him (with God knows what because I was just going off instinct and lessons), I had his leg tucked neatly below my armpit. Boom, instinct takes over.  Achilles lock. I could’ve gone for a heel hook (which I’m reaaaally good at btw), but I still feel it’s dangerous and not something white belts should play with. So I did what coach taught me.  Maintain control and finish the straight Achilles lock. That tap felt amazing. I came from being mounted, to getting a tap, despite my exhaustion.

Then, we rolled again and I had muscle fatigue. I had a full blown D’arce on him but I couldn’t finish it. LOL. I was too tired. My grip was slipping and all that.  It’s all good though.  I might be able to get some private lessons with Coach for Feb.  I’m training to pass the firefighters exam, so I can’t risk injury.  And coincidentally, coach has a sale (50% off of his cost for private lessons). So I’m thinking I’m going to take advantage of that.

Life is good.
