History.
I wish there were more jiu jitsu in this hl though. Modern MMA fans have no idea that BJJ is the foundation that MMA was built on.

If Anderson Silva is the Jordan of MMA, I’d say Jon Jones is Kobe.

Johnny Hendricks Vs Jon Fitch
one hitter quitter
Being the avid Fitch hater that I am, this made me especially happy that day.
Perception is everything it seems. Got this from another guy’s post who’s saying this proves that Nick won because most of those kicks were leg kicks that did nothing to stop Diaz.
What’s funny is that this proves that Condit was not only the more active striker, but he was also the more accurate striker. And saying that Condit’s kicks did nothing to Nick is a moot point considering that Nick didn’t finish Condit either. So by that logic Nick didn’t do anything.
Put the bias away. Let the numbers speak for themselves. Condit controlled the fight and won.
Here’s the fightmetric stats for Condit vs Diaz. Maybe this will put some things in perspective.
People are such whiners when their fighters lose. I really think, with Nick Diaz being a heavy favorite, people were disappointed that Condit’s strategy pretty much nullified Nick’s whole style. People wanted to see Nick shine but instead they saw Nick look frustrated and clueless out there. His only shining moment was in the last few minutes of the last round where it was too little too late. And because of this they blame Condit? Huh?
Let me help you understand a few things:
1. Running, controlling distance, and counter punching are very different things. People are accusing Condit of running. The problem is that running doesn’t win fights. So how did Condit win? Oh, that’s right, he was hitting Nick the WHOLE FIGHT! On what planet is that running?
2. If you need about 4 feet of distance to successfully employ your skillset, but the other guy keeps walking toward you, what would you do? Oh, that’s right, you’d backpedal in order to…….CONTROL THE DISTANCE!
3. On what planet is a head kick just for points? Or a flying knee? Or an elbow? Or a spinning backfist? Anyone saying Condit was playing for points is an idiot. His leg kicks were for points. His jabs were for points. But the rest wasn’t. Nick Diaz hasn’t been KO’d in nearly a decade. Acting like Condit’s inability to KO Diaz is anything but that is ridiculous.
4. Why don’t you blame your own fighter? Clearly Condit figured Nick’s pattern out. Back toward the fence where Nick likes to try to pepper you up, counter punch, slip out, take the center of the ring. Leg kicks. Back up to the fence. Counter. Slip out. Take the center of the ring. Why don’t you blame Nick for not picking up on that? Why don’t you blame his coaches? If you want to accuse Condit of running and doing SOMETHING, then blame Nick equally for chasing and doing NOTHING.
5. Condit won fair and square. He landed knees, elbows, kicks, spinning fists, jabs, straights and so on. Nick put his foot in his mouth. He said in the shows leading to the event, “I’d like to see you try that while you’re walking backwards.” Well, Condit did. And he executed perfectly. Rather than gripe because your boy looked bad, give respect for a guy who just did was a dozen other men couldn’t. All while walking backwards.
Now stop crying.
Yo, I never knew Judo was this gangsta. Geez. I’ll def be watching the next summer Olympics. If the UFC was smart, they’d have a scout checking them out. They’re legit fighters.
Amazing!
